Groundworker (Rotterdam and Zeeland Region)

As a Groundworker, you perform manual excavation and groundwork. The groundwork mainly consists of manually digging and backfilling pits and trenches in places where machines cannot get close enough to the workplace. You also perform tasks of cable and pipe layers, such as pulling cables, working in contaminated soil, placing structures and shoring, removing obstacles, and much more. You usually work in a team or together with cable and pipe layers, mobile crane operators, drivers, etc.

Your tasks as a groundworker include various activities. Performing simple, manual excavation and groundwork, demolition work, and the execution of civil works are examples of these. Additionally, you dig and fill pits and remove, repair, or install cement pipes where needed. You also perform simple tasks in the laying of cables and pipes.
